Advent Week Four 12.21.09 to 12.24.09

Everyone is still coughing and recovering. Violet's Confirmation last Thursday was the obvious highlight of our week last week :))) She now has four Nutcracker performances between Monday and Xmas Eve and then off until the 29th for two more final shows!

We're truly looking forward to January, SNOW anyone????

Final days of Advent and awaiting our blessed Saviour ~ Finishing up our Jesse Tree/Advent cubes, morning prayers and devotions.

Books read:

The Christmas Tomten (so good!)

Susan Jeffer's Nutcracker

Madeleine L'Engle's Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas (read all last week, so good)

Hanna's Christmas by the very talented Melissa (Wiley)!

Continuing our daily and evening readings of: An Advent Storybook, and our new very favorite The Christmas Rose (so sweet and beautiful).

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and we will see you in the new year with some more learning and love with the Sweetness and Light gang 🙂

Our days have now morphed into gift making spurts and playing lots of music and games together. We have officially finished formal studies for the year (did I really say that??) and will truly enjoy slowing down our days (even though they are cranking up with Nutcracker performances for Violet the closer we get to Christmas).

Rest of Week ~ Everything went pretty much downhill for the remainder if this week and slowly each of the kids got sick one after another beginning with Matthias. Thankfully it was a pretty mild cold, but with an accompanying cough that is lingering, 😦

Many books were read and re-read, many cups of tea and cocoa were administered. And (thanking God) neither myself nor my dh have yet to get it :)))
